Within this website you will find our calendar of events and all the information you will need to engage the band to play. If you are a piper or drummer, come and join our band. We welcome new members whatever your level.
Ceilidh 2012
Written by Di Holl (Secretary) Monday, 20 February 2012 20:46
There was a full house comprised of band members, families and friends of The Bristol City Pipes & Drums at the Ceilidh on Saturday 18th. of February. The proceedings began with the band playing several sets, before everyone moved in to the dining room for supper. Ian Wyllie said the Selkirk Grace and after the soup course, the Pipe Major piped in the haggis. The address to the haggis was given by President, Don Cameron, after an amusing introduction. A delicious meal followed, with entertainment from the drummers – who used the school dining tables to play their ‘party piece’ – and some of the pipers. The highlight of the performances was Ryan Smart, who played on the goose, accompanied by dad, Julian. We can look forward to a very talented piper in the future. The band, Jiggerty, then took over and there was some strenuous dancing for the rest of the evening, with a slight pause for guests to get their breath back, when Julian and Bill played to a delighted audience. It was good to see Bill in such good spirits and we hope he will be back with the band very soon.
Thanks are especially due to Maggie Cameron, who organised the evening.

Owing to the imminent retirement of our current and long serving Bass Drummer, a vacancy will occur for at least one and possibly two Bass Drummers. Contact the band if you are interested in this vital role.
