RSPBA Competition Luton 2019
THE BAND DELIVERS AT THE RSPBA COMPETITION IN LUTON
Representatives of the City of Bristol Pipes and Drums travelled to Luton on 7th April 2019 to take part in the RSPBA London and South of England Branch competition for quartets and mini-bands. Travelling with an early start didn’t hold them back, and Band A came through with the Arran Cup for third place in the Grade 4 Mini-Band march competition, in a record year for the number of bands entering the competition. A different combination of players also competed as Band B in the same competition and delivered a really good performance.
The same combinations played in the March, Strathspey and Reel competition and gave solid performances, Band A producing another trophy, a smile from the PM and third place in the Grade 4 category.
Leading drummer, Jim McMillan, won the solo drumming competition and our young star piper, Ryan Smart, won both the Juvenile and adult solo piping MSR medals.

For Band members, Recordings made at Luton of our competitors can be found in the Band Recordings Folder in DropBox folder at the second level. They are worth listening to especially young Ryan
